[3DS] Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon ROM

Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon is not a game that uses the usual motif of the traditional Pokemon series. That’s right, we have here a spin-off game of the Pokemon franchise. What’s special is that instead of playing as a Pokemon trainer, you actually become one of them.

Not only do you get to transform into a Pokemon, but you also get to experience the dangers of the beautiful but challenging world of Pokemon. Basically, this is still an RPG but it leans more towards the roguelike genre. The game revolves around you trying to fight and survive through a series of randomly generated dungeons. Winning the main levels is the way to level up your character and unlock new skills. Super Mystery Dungeon does not have an open world to explore and you will realize that its gameplay will follow a very linear path. This may reduce the exploration value of the game but it is accessible to everyone.

We have a story here but it basically just revolves around figuring out why you were turned into a Pokémon and then saving the world. You also get to make friends with a lot of Pokémon along the way.

Mystery Dungeon works like this: you and a companion Pokémon explore a series of maze-like rooms and corridors. Your mission is to fight enemy Pokémon while looking for stairs to get to the next floor of the dungeon. Eventually, you reach the exit and that’s when the story continues.

At first, you might not find this game too challenging because you always have plenty of items to replenish your HP or PP. Honestly, it feels like you could play this with your eyes closed. But then you realize that there’s more to the challenge. Your character starts to fall unconscious and you find yourself having to save your character with other Pokémon. The story and difficulty really ramp up and it’s enough to keep you hooked.
