[3DS] Kirby’s Blowout Blast ROM
Kirby’s Blowout Blast Description
Kirby’s Blowout Blast might not stand out as a major title in the Kirby series, having been released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2017, but trust me, it’s a fantastic game, just like most other Kirby titles!
Nintendo took this game directly from the “Kirby 3D Rumble” minigame in Kirby Planet Robobot, but they added more content for those who enjoyed this side game. This game features larger levels, new enemies, and several bosses.
One great thing about this game is how fast-paced everything is. As soon as you start a level, the whistle blows, and you’re off to the races against the clock. A timer in the top-left corner starts ticking down, and you dash off to defeat enemies. Based on how you complete the level, you’ll receive points for taking no damage, the speed at which you cleared the stage, the number of coins you collected, and the number of enemies defeated. After you beat world one, you’ll see a new type of world open up, called world one X or level one X, which is just a harder version of the first level, but you can only access these levels if you achieve a gold medal or higher on every stage in the non-X versions.
The movement mechanics in Kirby’s Blowout Blast are generally a bit stiff. It’s not bad at all, just not as good as some other Kirby games like Kirby and the Amazing Mirror or even Kirby and the Forgotten Land on the Switch. His jump is fairly responsive, not as snappy as some other games like Kirby and the Forgotten Land, but it’s still really okay. Another thing I noticed is how big Kirby gets when he inhales a lot of things into his mouth. Normally, Kirby’s body is a standard thickness, but it seems like the amount of stuff in your mouth will change Kirby’s size. You can even see the little nubs on his body wiggle in pain or excitement.
You’ll love the music throughout the game, with classic Kirby synth sounds and beats. The themes throughout each world are always a great mix with synth strings and synth flutes along with a catchy melody. If you don’t want to play the game or don’t want to buy the game, you should definitely listen to the original soundtrack.
Kirby’s Blowout Blast looks pretty simple, but it’s a fun little challenge throughout. The bosses are fun, all the levels are enjoyable and challenging. This game is a lot of fun, so if you’re using a 3DS emulator, now’s the time to download its CIA ROM file and play for free.
