Sonic Lost World Description

No matter what happens, whether the next Sonic game is good or bad, one thing is certain: Sonic will never stop running. This guy rockets by, fast and powerful, flying through loops and bouncing off springboards like a living pinball, collecting jingling rings and crashing into robots with wild blue abandon. Sonic Lost World is no exception to this, and as usual, we’ve got a good game on our hands.

Challenge and Gameplay Balance

Sonic Lost World is a game genuinely trying to be both a racehorse and a playground. On one hand, the hedgehog has to go fast. His name is Sonic, after all. Lost World isn’t the fastest Sonic game ever, but there’s a good sense of speed, especially in some 3D segments where Sonic literally cannot stop moving forward.

On the other hand, some players want to slow down and explore. Golden rings are scattered everywhere to help you endure hits from robotic baddies. But collecting every single one of the five red star rings hidden in each level can be quite an effort. Collecting them offers more substantial rewards than simply playing the simple balloon-popping carnival games they unlock on the game’s mostly decorative hexagonal map. Since the game shows you which red stars you’re missing, there’s a clear temptation to complete them.

Level Design and Mechanic Diversity

Sonic Lost World joyfully zips you from one type of gameplay to another. You’ll rarely be doing the same thing for too long. Some levels are 2D, some are 3D. Some levels switch back and forth as you play. You might find yourself circling the surfaces of cylindrical tube worlds or tiny planets, launching from orb to orb, or you might roll yourself into a ball to traverse an icy landscape. It’s not hard to see that Sonic is taking cues from his old rival, Mario. But while it doesn’t quite live up to the inspired design of Mario Galaxy, the concept works fairly well. And Sonic has plenty of his own ideas anyway, even if some of them are recycled from older games.

The variety and unpredictability are great, but the next activity around the corner isn’t always as fun as the one you just did. Temporary power-ups called Wisps, carried over from Sonic Generations . They introduce different ways to navigate levels, but they don’t really feel seamless and often require you to figure out unintuitive motion controls. Since Lost World’s lengthy multi-part missions must be completed in order, you can’t really seek out the type of gameplay you like best. You’ll simply have to accept the game’s uneven pacing and power through the rough patches.

Attack Types and Boss Battles

We are all going to die. There are actually two types of homing attacks to use: a spin-ball and a kick that can send one enemy careening into another. While there are a few sensible times to kick something, being able to kick just makes the game slightly more complicated without really making it much more fun.

Taking the time to fight enemies often feels unnecessary in Sonic games. However, sometimes you’ll use enemies as a means to reach the next platform. At the end of each themed world, you’ll need to crash into large bosses to clear the way to your next stage. Lost World features some enjoyable fights with a group of eccentric villains known as The Deadly Six. Sometimes they are creative and amusing. Sometimes they are bizarre to the point of climax.

Conclusion

Although the cartoon story is clearly for kids, Sonic Lost World is built for Sonic fans who have stuck with this game through thick and thin. It also borrows a few things from other games. Lost World nearly trips over itself trying to find a compromise between pure speed and stopping to smell the flowers. But unlike many other Sonic games, this one does quite well, and it deserves to be in your Nintendo 3DS Game ROM collection. Please download the game via the link below to enjoy it for free.
