[3DS] Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed ROM
Game Files Information
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Description
The success of the Mario Kart series opened up a new path for the racing genre that other series tried to follow. It’s clear that every franchise wanted to have its own kart racing game. Most big names tried, but few managed to match Mario — until we got Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on the Nintendo 3DS.
What can be said about this game? It’s perfect, wonderful, fun, and full of content. Honestly, this game actually surpassed some Mario Kart titles, and it did so with help from Space Channel 5, Panzer Dragoon, Skies of Arcadia, Nights into Dreams, Crazy Taxi, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Metal Sonic, Burning Rangers, and Danica Patrick.
Gameplay and Difficulty
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed may have a ridiculously long name, but it gets everything right. What’s in it? We have an excellent racing game, track designs that are even better than Mario Kart 7, and difficulty levels perfectly tuned to challenge even the most skilled racers.
As usual, you have three difficulty settings for each race, and you can earn Stars depending on the difficulty level you play on. The highest difficulty can earn you up to three Stars. These Stars are extremely important because you can use them to unlock new characters and tracks.
If you’ve played enough kart racing games, you’ll find the medium difficulty fairly balanced, but try the hard mode once, and you’ll realize it’s a real challenge. You’ll need both luck and skill to win races since there are so many variables on the track that even the smartest players can’t predict them all. Although there are power-ups on the track, none of them are so overpowered that they can carry you from last place to first on the final lap.
The “Transformed” Mechanic
The word “Transformed” in the title might make you curious. It doesn’t mean you’ll turn into Optimus Prime or anything flashy like that. The word “Transformed” refers to how, in most races, you’ll transform from a kart into a boat or a plane — or at least one or two of those. It may sound like a gimmick, but it’s actually a lot of fun and makes this game stand out far above your typical licensed kart racer. In fact, all of these elements, combined with great references to the Sega Dreamcast and Saturn, make Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed one of the best 3DS games of 2012.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on 3DS is the pinnacle of the kart racing genre. It’s genuinely fun and well-balanced in many aspects. What’s special is that the higher difficulty levels are much tougher than those in typical kart games, which are often seen as kids’ games due to their lower difficulty. This is a fantastic driving game that will keep you racing for quite a while, trying to unlock everything — and trust me, it’s highly addictive. You’ll want to unlock everything.
In addition to the standard racing mode, there are also drift challenges, quite similar to Tokyo Extreme Drift though much more colorful. There are also boost races, battle races, and overall it’s just a great game. Whether or not you’re a Sega fan, this is an excellent kart racing game — and if you are a Sega fan, you’ll love it.
The question is: how can you play it now that the 3DS eShop has closed and original 3DS consoles are no longer being produced? Simple — you can easily play Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on your mobile device or PC using Nintendo 3DS emulators. In addition to the emulator, you’ll need the original ROM file of the game, which we’ve provided in this article. Have fun!
