Rhythm Heaven Megamix Description

Rhythm Heaven Megamix on Nintendo 3DS is overflowing with charm and personality. It has great music, rhythm gameplay that works very well, and a ton of content. Okay, that’s the end of the review, I guess I have to go into a little more detail.

Diverse Characters and Unique Art Style

What makes this game so fun is that it has so much personality. You know, with most rhythm games you don’t really get personality from them. Rhythm Heaven Megamix has about 100 musical games to play, and in all of those musical games, you will see a lot of different little characters, different little scenarios in which you are playing along to music. That is the thing that is very unique and exclusive to Rhythm Heaven. You’ll see monkeys, you’ll see seals, you’ll see goofy-looking people, you’ll see samurai and ninjas, you’ll see lumberjacks, you’ll see all sorts of other animals, and you’ll see little germs under a microscope and aliens.

If you’re looking for a game that’s not only great to play but has a genuinely charming side, oh my god, you’re definitely going to find it in Rhythm Heaven Megamix.

Great Music and High Replay Value

Rhythm Heaven Megamix has a lot of games to play. There are about 100 different songs to play, and for the most part, the music in this game is genuinely catchy and fun. This is a rhythm game, obviously, so it’s all about the music, so having good music is very important, and the developer definitely did that.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix is like a giant compilation of everything the series has always offered. So you’re going to have games returning from the Game Boy Advance version of Rhythm Heaven, you have them from the DS game, from the Wii, and of course, you have a bunch of new games exclusive to Megamix. So it’s kind of like a library or even bigger, a museum of Rhythm Heaven. This makes it very hard to get bored with this game.

Satisfying Handheld Experience and Broad Appeal

It’s also great to have this game on a handheld device. You can take your headphones, you can take it anywhere you’re going, and play a bit. Rhythm Heaven Megamix definitely has a very high “play and quit” quality to it since the musical games last about a minute and a half to two minutes, so this is an excellent series to play on the go.

The game is also very simple to play. Most of this game you’re literally just playing by pressing a single button to the beat, and it’s always very clearly explained to you. You know, press the button to jump up like a monkey when you’re having a sleepover or something. It’s really easy to grasp. It’s awesome that this game has such a casual appeal to people who might not play games due to the charming characters and silly music that’s addictive to listen to, and the easy controls. As easy as it is to play, it also has a clear “hardcore” quality to it as it’s not easy to get a perfect or good score on these games.

Additional Content

There’s not a lot to do in this game, as most of our experience is focused on the great musical tracks. Rhythm Heaven Megamix does have some minor bonus content and a bunch of unlockable items, but they aren’t essential. You can also unlock music so you can just listen to it without having to play the game. You can unlock little items to collect, but they don’t do anything. There are some extra little rhythm-related mini-games, but a lot of those are recycled from previous Rhythm Heaven games. There’s not a lot of new content there. So, this is a game where you’ll play the main musical parts and not a lot of the bonus content.

Conclusion

Rhythm Heaven Megamix is an excellent game; it is full of charm. I love the characters, you’re definitely going to smile while playing this, you’re going to have a few giggles, and the music is addictive. It’s fantastic, and it works very well on a 3DS emulator. Do yourself a favor, download this game, and get ready to play it on your 3DS emulator. This is one of the most fun games on the Nintendo 3DS, and it’s definitely one of the best music games on the platform.
