Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Description
Many fans were a little nervous when they started playing Mario & Luigi: Dream Team because of the mistakes Nintendo made with Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Many were worried that Nintendo would mess up the formula of one of Mario’s best RPGs. Well, rest assured because Mario & Luigi: Dream Team sticks to what came before it and is a great RPG on the Nintendo 3DS.
Story
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team is a journey through dreams, where everything is more bizarre and humorous than usual. You will play as the two plumber brothers – the ever-agile Mario and the sleep-loving Luigi – on a quest to both save the world and lull his younger brother Luigi to sleep.
Everything begins when the gang (Mario, Luigi, Peach, and the short-legged Toads) accept an invitation to vacation on the mysterious Pi’illo Island. What they thought would be a luxurious getaway of watermelon and sunbathing quickly turns chaotic upon arrival: the princess is kidnapped, the residents are trapped in pillows, and a dark force is plotting to turn the entire world into a never-ending nightmare. Thus, the Mushroom Kingdom brothers must roll up their sleeves once again, this time not only stomping Goombas but also diving into Luigi’s dreams to fight!
The game’s story, while nothing too remarkable, is entertaining. It’s a simple plot with a few twists along the way and is filled with humor that’s true to the series.
Dreamy world, vivid graphics, creativity unleashed.
Dream Team offers you two worlds: the real world full of traps, and the dream world where all rules are bent according to Luigi’s imagination. The dazed and confused Luigi is now the center of the universe. Within dreams, you’ll control Mario alongside “Dreamy Luigi” – a magical, phantom-like version who can transform, multiply, manipulate the environment, and unleash epic combination attacks that are truly “over the top.”
Each Dream World is inspired by the real world, with areas that are uniquely designed and distinct. Where things really feel different is in the use of Luiginary abilities. Whenever Mario dives into the Dream Portal while Luigi is asleep, he gets help from Dreamy Luigi in a variety of ways. He can help you in a variety of ways on your adventure, from blowing objects in the background into the foreground, to stacking dozens of Luigis on top of each other to reach higher areas, and even affecting Mario’s timing and speed.
The turn-based combat system is hilarious and dynamically paced, where each attack is a small mini-game requiring you to time your dodges, counters, or powerful spin kicks to the enemy’s rear. The Bros Attack and Dream Team Attack techniques are not only visually stunning but will also make you chuckle at their absurdity and uniqueness – truly “only in Ohio”!
Engaging plot, non-stop humor
From the witty dialogues between Mario & Luigi to the villain Antasma, who is “dangerous but speaks like a stage actor,” Dream Team is a true adventure comedy. You’ll encounter the elegant Prince Dreambert, talking pillows, and even an army of Luigis forming a giant ball to crush bosses! Each level is a surprise, filled with subtle plot twists and a series of laugh-out-loud, silly situations that are quintessentially Luigi.
Embark on a dream-discovering journey.
