Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move Description
If you think that Mario games are always about jumping and overcoming obstacles, you’re not entirely wrong. However, this time, Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move will take you on a completely new journey – one where you’ll have to guide adorable, and quite literally, stubborn Mini robots.
The game is an interesting combination of a path-laying puzzle genre and time-based elements, where you need to both rack your brain and act quickly if you don’t want your Mini Mario to plunge into the abyss or… self-destruct in a spectacularly unsalvageable way. Released exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS, this is the next installment in the popular ‘Mario vs. Donkey Kong’ series – this time upgraded in both gameplay and level of
challenge, enough to make you both burst out laughing and frustratingly tear your hair out in the same playthrough!
‘Path-laying’ Gameplay That Seems Simple But Is Challenging
The core of the game is that you have to drag, drop, and arrange road tiles to help Mini Mario (and other Minis like Mini Peach, Mini Toad…) get from point A to point B safely. It might sound easy, but with over 180 levels divided into various modes and difficulty levels, you’ll soon realize you’ve entered a maze of calculations, rotating puzzle pieces, traps, and ‘self-destructions’ caused by misplacing tiles.
The interesting point of the game comes from finding the optimal solution – a path that collects all the coins, avoids obstacles, and reaches the destination at the right time. The combination of strategy and action makes each level feel thrilling, exciting, and sometimes disappointing when you’re just a second away from your Mini escaping danger!
A Cheerful and Engaging Miniature World
Without aiming to ‘blockbusterize’ the game’s content, Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move still scores points with its lively 3D graphics, cute character models, and fun sound effects reminiscent of classic Mario games. With the levels created in a diorama fashion, every stage is sort of a “magical journey”, where players get to feed their imagination through the possible ways.
Especially with full use of the touchscreen capabilities in a 3DS, it almost feels like you are playing a life-sized jigsaw puzzle, and the game will be more enjoyable and challenging.
Unlimited Creativity with the Level Design Feature
Not just a puzzle solver, the game also allows you to become a mastermind with the Create & Share mode, where you can create your unique levels, share them with the community, or download creations from other players. Each design is a miniature world you’ve built, where your imagination can run wild without being limited by any ‘physical laws’!
Ready to Ready Your Brain with the Minis
Mario + Donkey Kong: Minis on the move is not a grand adventure, it is not filled with hyper battles but the moderate pace, advanced thinking on the placement and last but not least the surprising maneuvers is what has the appeal.
A diorama mode level design, each stage “magical journey” of sorts, allowing players to freely use their imaginations to guide them around obstacles with just one level, but then you will realise that your next stop is not morning!
So what are you waiting for? Download the game ROM and fire up your brain, start the journey of taking your Minis for a stroll in the puzzle maze right now!
